Machine Substitutions: Woodworking Without a Thickness Planer

No thickness planer, no problem! In this video I show you how to woodwork without a thickness planer by using alternative techniques.

There are basically four ways to work around not having a planer in your shop.

  1. You can build a sled.

  2. Mill the boards by hand.

  3. Use the hand plane approach, but with a belt sander or hand power planer.

  4. Or use a wide form sander with a jointer sled/a>.
